Gates Foundation partnered with AVPN for Bharat Innovates for Social Good, a 90-minute convening bringing together philanthropists, investors, innovators, government leaders and ecosystem partners to explore how India’s innovation ecosystem can help accelerate solutions to some of the world’s most pressing development challenges.
The evening showcased Indian innovations across health, agriculture, and AI, with a focus on how locally developed solutions are delivering measurable impact at scale and how some of these approaches have relevance well beyond India, particularly across low- and middle-income countries.
The event served as an opportunity to reinforce the foundation’s long-term commitment to partnering with India and to explore how solutions emerging from India can contribute to progress both within the country, and across the Global South.
Objectives
- Explore how AI and technology are transforming India's health and agriculture ecosystems, and the real-world impact being created on the ground.
- Understand how innovation, mentorship, capital, and policy are collectively shaping health and agriculture towards the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
- Engage with founders, innovators, ecosystem and thought leaders, and philanthropic partners driving change across India's innovation landscape.
- Showcase India's emergence as a global innovation hub—where locally-rooted solutions in health, agriculture, technology, and human-centered design are finding relevance far beyond borders.
Event Attendees: The event saw over 300 attendees, comprising innovators, philanthropic partners, investors, technology and AI leaders, health and agriculture innovators, startup founders, government leaders, private sector leaders, and development partners.
